Dr Oz: Coconut Oil For Weight Loss

Dr Oz talked about coconut oil for weight loss on October 30, 2012 segment of his show. Coconut oil contains medium chain fatty acids (MCFA) or medium chain tryglicerides (MCT) that are rapidly oxidized in the liver and not stored as fat. This increases energy expenditure and may lead to weight loss.

What Is The Best Coconut Oil?
When selecting and buying organic virgin coconut oil, make sure it meets the following requirements:
– certified organic
– cold pressed
– made from fresh coconut, not copra
– no refining
– no bleaching
– no deodorization
– no hydrogenation

Where To Buy Organic Virgin Coconut Oil
Depending where you live, you may be able to find organic virgin coconut oil at a local supermarket or health food store.  Otherwise, you can easily buy it online.

Coconut oil is also available as a dietary supplement in capsule form, if you are not keen to take spoonfuls of it.
