What is Coenzyme Q10?
Coenzyme Q10, also known as Co Q10 and ubiquinone is found in human cells.

Coenzyme Q10 (Co Q10) & Blood Pressure
Several studies have shown that Co Q10 supplementation may lower high blood pressure.

Co Q10 appears to lower blood pressure by:
– preserving nitric oxide that relaxes arteries.
– preventing free radicals from inactivating nitric oxide.
– increasing production of prostaglandin prostacyclin (PGI2), a vasolidator and inhibitor of platelet aggregation.
– enhancing sensitivity of muscle in the arteries to PGI2.

Recommended Dosage
Dr Oz recommends 200 mg per day. This is based on the dosage used in the studies. It is best to take it in 2 divided doses to enhance its absorption and to minimize gastrointestinal effects.
